A fan-made quiz built for learning Pokémon silhouettes
The Pokémon Quiz is a free browser game covering National Pokédex species #001–1025 across Generations 1–9. Its goal is simple: make recognition practice fast, replayable, and useful for fans at every experience level.
How questions are selected
Endless mode selects a species at random from the active generation and type filters. Daily 10 uses the same dated challenge for everyone, so results can be compared and shared. Alternate forms are not counted as separate National Pokédex species.
Which answers are accepted
The game normalizes capitalization and common punctuation, then checks English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and supported romanized Japanese names. Revealed answers currently use the English species name.
How guide statistics work
Generation and type pages calculate their counts from the same dataset used by the live quiz. Type totals include a species when that type appears in either its primary or secondary current classification.
Progress and analytics
Your game, Review, and Lab progress plus small self-share safeguards stay in this browser; no account is required, and clearing site data resets them. Production uses aggregate analytics to measure page and quiz reliability, including starts, completed questions, and asset errors.
Data sources and corrections
Species metadata and artwork are normalized from community-maintained Pokémon datasets, including PokéAPI and its sprite repository. Guide totals are generated from the checked-in quiz data rather than typed by hand. When classifications or names change, the dataset and affected guides should be updated together.
