What you’ll practice

Watch for smaller baby-Pokémon proportions and the extra branches added to older evolution families.

  1. Baby Pokémon usually have larger heads and shorter limbs than the relatives they evolve into.
  2. Look for split evolutions: Espeon, Umbreon, Bellossom, and Politoed each change a familiar family’s outline.
  3. Johto’s legendary beasts are easiest to separate by their head crests and back decorations.
