How to read Dark silhouettes

Sort the silhouette into quadruped predator, upright trickster, winged creature, serpentine beast, or shadow-like form. Then use the secondary type to explain armor, fins, wings, or plant growth.

  1. Canine and feline Dark Pokémon differ through muzzle length, ear angle, tail shape, and the height of the shoulders.
  2. Upright tricksters often have oversized hair, collars, masks, or hand-like forelimbs that dominate the outline.
  3. Winged and draconic Dark types can be separated by head count, wing span, neck length, and tail structure.
  4. Ghost, Steel, Water, Ground, Ice, and Grass pairings add wisps, blades, fins, broad jaws, saber-like features, or foliage.

Silhouettes that are easy to confuse

Dark or Ghost?

Dark predators usually keep a complete weight-bearing body; Ghost silhouettes more often trail, float, or split into disconnected parts.

Canine or feline predator?

Canines show longer muzzles and straighter legs, while feline forms use rounder heads, curved backs, and sweeping tails.

Trickster or fighter?

Dark tricksters emphasize masks, capes, hair, or concealed hands, while Fighting designs reveal a balanced athletic stance.
